ARC-16 Switcher                                                                           Routing Switcher

The ARC-16SW routing switcher is designed to support Arrakis audio consoles. With 16 stereo inputs, it is an ideal remote selector to bring network audio feeds into one or more studios in a station. The power of the Windows PC control makes it quick and simple to name the switcher inputs and outputs for ease of operation. With client-server software, the switcher can be controlled from any PC on the station network and even from a remote location. One of the three outputs has a silence sensor with adjustable time delay and an emergency source input to respond to loss of on air signal. ARC-16SW Hardware

The ARC-16 is flat wall mounted (similar to punch blocks) for ease of access in the station equipment room or in a studio furniture pedestal. Trim pot adjust of all inputs makes it easy to bring many source levels to a single station wide audio level. The ARC-16 can also be used to replace distribution amps for audio distribution. While the ARC-16 does not have a plug in expansion bus, the inputs are high impedance and multiple switchers can be wired in parallel to expand the number of outputs from 3 to 6 or more.

ARC-16SW Software

The ARC-16SW software is extremely easy to use. The software searches for the switcher automatically when opened and displays the current switcher status. The 17 by 3 button array makes it very easy to manually select a source channel for a console input or even for the station output to the transmitter chain. The automation schedule is a one week rotating schedule and is easy to set up. Schedule a basic hour (or day) and then copy & paste it into other hours & days. A count down clock displays time to the next scheduled event. A log documents the operation of the schedule. Very little training is required and the ability to name every source and output makes operation totally intuitive. The ability to lock out sources from an output makes feedback impossible. The software is ideal for use as an input expander for a console or as a station switcher.
