Both
analog and digital at the same time...
The Revolution is the amazing radio console that is at
home in both analog & digital studio alike. With greater features,
reliability, performance, and a lower price than an analog console,
the time has come for the change to digital. Remarkable new features
such as simultaneous operation from multiple studios, PC computer
control, a separate rack mounted digital engine for ease of installation & service,
plus a very low starting price makes the Revolution
a truly better idea

Control
with a Console - or - a PC computer
The Revolution console is an advanced, modular, two piece design make up of
a rack mounted digital audio engine and a control system. The control system
can be a traditional looking console, or the PC computer shown below, or even
BOTH at the same time.

Flexible
design...
The ability to choose between a traditional looking console - or - PC computer
makes the REVOLUTION remarkably flexible. While familiar slide faders are a
comfortable choice, high resolution LCD touch screens are more reliable, take
up very little desk space, and are no longer the more expensive option. In
fact, touch screens are now the control system choice in retail, commercial,
and industrial applications. In many auxiliary studios such as News or Production,
a simple mouse and keyboard may be the ideal choice. After all, in recent years,
PC based hard disk audio systems and Production editors have made the computer
a common sight in most radio studios. At only $3,995 plus PC, this is certainly
a cost effective solution. This kind of flexibility makes the Revolution clearly
the better idea.

The
Modular design makes the Revolution easy to install, service,
and use
Modularity
is important in professional broadcast equipment. Whether during
installation or while servicing the product, a modular design reduces
down time, cost, and frustration. The two piece modular nature
of the Revolution is an important and unique feature. The digital
engine can be located away from the console operator or even in
a remote rack room, simplifying installation, wiring, and service.
The control console is also modular, making it quick and easy to
replace worn faders or to expand the system. During service, you
can actually disconnect the control system from the digital engine
without interrupting the console's play. For those stations that
want a complete sense of security, the two piece design even makes
possible an optional overnight replacement service program for
the digital engine. Just as important, nearly any Windows PC computer
backs up the console control system.

Talk
studio Turret support via PC or in table button modules
The
digital engine features two serial control ports, enabling the
console to be monitored and controlled from two places simultaneously,
such as an On Air and Talk studio. The engine has separate control
room and studio monitor feeds plus 5 assignable microphone inputs.
One input is for the control from mic. The other 4 mic inputs have
full turret logic control for a host and 3 guests. This includes
channel On, Off, Cough, and Tally. Special Turret control software
for a Windows PC makes a particularly elegant solution for the
talk studio. This software shown at above and to the right includes:
clock, Up/Down timer, mic control for up to 4, studio monitor input
selector, and studio monitor level control. PC control of the turret
is compact, rugged, easy to use, inexpensive, and very attractive.
This elegant solution for talk studio control is a new and far
better idea.

A
Powerful Telephone Interface
For
telephone talk radio and contest caller applications, the console
supports two simultaneous callers via two mono mix minus buses.
Unlike analog or unsophisticated digital consoles, the Revolution
does not require separate phone channels. Instead, the Revolution
uses the power of the digital engine to automatically configure
itself for telephone operation whenever a phone input is activated.
Simple, powerful, and easy to use, the Revolution features On Air,
and Off line split feed recording operation with talkback to either
or both callers.

Flexible
Support for large numbers of sources
If
more digital or analog inputs are required on any channel, the
Revolution has several options. A 5 input remote selector console
module is a passive switch and can select either analog or digital
sources. If large routing switcher capability is required, up to
4 Arrakis analog routing switchers with 7 to 14 inputs each may
be added to 4 channels in the system. That brings up to 60 more
inputs into the console. For even larger systems, the console may
be integrated into a master switching system such as by SAS (Sierra
Automation Systems) to accommodate literally hundreds of mixed
analog and digital sources. Powerful PC control software is supplied
for seamless control of these large switchers.

High
Performance & High Quality
The
REVOLUTION digital console is a no compromise engineering design
that can be used in any level of application. All analog inputs
and outputs are high quality, active balanced circuitry. All digital
inputs are full AES-EBU implementations with EBU standard transformer
isolation. All digital inputs feature sample rate converters. The
system clock can be 32, 44.1, or 48 kHz with master input and output
clock sync ports. All A/D inputs are 18 bit, 128x oversampled converters,
while D/As are 18 bit, 8x oversampled. For maximum mixing performance,
the console uses 32 bit accumulators. Fully state of the digital
audio art, the REVOLUTION cuts no corners.
Relax
and Enjoy the Best of BOTH Analog and Digital without ANY
Worries
To
be able to meet the needs of the modern radio studio where source
equipment is a mixture of analog and digital, the REVOLUTION does
BOTH. The three main output buses have both analog and digital
outputs, while the input channels may be configured as any combination
of analog and digital sources. Because the console supports both
analog and digital alike, the REVOLUTION console can be installed
today and provide an effortless transition as digital sources are
added tomorrow.
