Many Studios, one price...
When you purchase a single Xtreme solutions program, you can use the Digilink-Xtreme software in other studios for no additional charge. While Xtreme is a complete radio station on just a single PC, it is often desireable for scheduling functions and auxiliary studio functions to be performed on PCs in other rooms in the station. To accomplish that, Xtreme software configures itself for the application. If in the On Air studio and connected to Bridge hardware, Xtreme operates in the 'Xtreme-air' mode with complete functionality. If in the Newsroom or out on a Remote and not connected to Bridge hardware, Xtreme operates in the 'Xtreme-studios' mode. In this mode, the Bridge functionality is removed and the library is reconfigured appropriate for a support studio instead of main On Air. For simplicity of use in the Traffic scheduling office, an 'X-sched' mode is a setup option which configures Xtreme to only display the scheduling & log screens. As an added bonus, the Xtreme solutions program provides a standalone software product (X-edit & X-Edit-pro) that is designed for dubbing and post-production to easily convert audio files produced outside Xtreme into the Xtreme audio & data format. Xtreme provides On Air, News, Remote, Scheduling and Dubbing studios so that Xtreme can be a single PC radio station or a multi-studio networked station for a single low price.

To make it easy to get started with Xtreme, Arrakis can provide a professional quality music library, ready to go, on hard disk !!!

Arrakis has a digital music library with more than 200,000 song titles. All songs are encoded at a 256k bitrate MPEG1 layer 2 for a true CD quality. Libraries are provided on a high quality IDE hard drive in an external cabinet for connection via USB2 to the PC operating Digilink-Xtreme software. Songs are encoded with music data such as title, artist, intro-extro times, etc in the Digilink-Xtreme data format. Arrakis libraries are sold only for use on Digilink-Xtreme automation systems. The libraries are provided only to licensed radio stations and are not for private use.

sophisticated features...
Xtreme has all of the capabilities required for on air, production and scheduling. It requires no special sound cards. Xtreme is dual play for both on air and cueing. The on air audio output can be any mix of 3 audio files in linear, MP2, or MP3 compression formats.

Xtreme supports the sophisticated features required to allow your automation system to meet any type or style of on air format. Those features include: timed events, drop events for overscheduling, autofill of missing or out of date carts, RS232 serial control events, random liner events, and much more.

Xtreme is ideal for hard disk audio based radio. In this type of station configuration, all on air audio events are produced or recorded to hard disk and then played to air. Direct source events such as network feeds are not physically switched to air but are recorded and delayed. This type of disk based automation allows greater control of your on air sound.

If control of external sources such as network feeds is desireable, the Bridge has all of the switcher and logic features that are required.

Scheduling Satellite automation...
Satellite scheduling is flexible in Xtreme. Stopsets are created by simply placing timed or floating break events into the playlist. Satellite mode can be entered and exited hour by hour or in the middle of an hour with a single event in the play list. The Xtreme autofill feature will select an alternate audio file if a traffic event does not exist. With support for 16 satellite channels, Xtreme is the most powerful satellite automation system in Radio.

Timed Network Recorder...
Xtreme has a powerful network recorder that uses the Bridge switcher and control logic to interface to satellite networks for automatic recording of network feeds. The Bridge switcher can select among 16 different network feeds and start recording based on time, closure, and audio presence. The recorder supports the Windows audio compression manager and can therefore record in uncompressed wav, MP2, and MP3 formats. The record schedule is a rotating weekly schedule that can record thousands of events. The recorder can also be used as a manual recorder for simple manual production

The 'Bridge Hardware'

your radio audio library of songs, spots, beds, jingles, etc are stored on your PC hard drive and then played back through the the Arrakis audio Bridge. The Bridge has all of the switcher and logic hardware required for full satellite automation. The system therefore supports Live On Air operation, Live assist, Hard disk based automation, Satellite automation, or any combination of the above.

The Bridge features dual internal sound cards. These sound cards connect to the PC via USB serial cable so that the audio decoding is done outside the harsh RF environment of the PC.
