ACCENT is available in standard models as well as custom configurations. The hybrid metal frame & structural panel design combined with Arrakis’ state of the art CNC manufacturing systems easily tailors the final product to fit your exact studio’s size and shape. Decades of Experience

Arrakis Systems has been a leader in studio furniture products for radio since the late 1970s.

Thousands of studios have been designed, manufactured, and sold by Arrakis Systems. Our studios can be found around the world and in every size market, from New York to Italy to Tahiti.

Because of its origins in the console market, Arrakis pioneered the metal post and wood panel

construction found in most high end radio studio furniture in use today. The internal metal structure dramatically improved manufacturing tolerances and made high quality modularity possible. Arrakis’ wood products manufacturing facility is world class, including a large capacity CNC (computerized numerical control) router for complex geometries and surfaces.

More than just a studio

A radio studio is more than simply a collection of electronic equipment and technical furniture, it is the stage on which live programs are performed & recorded programs are created. It is where form and function meet in a way to foster creativity and productivity. The electronic tools for talent must be easily accessible and close at hand while the support electronics is equally accessible by engineers for maintenance or repair. We realize that every studio is different and has different needs. Therefore we design our furniture to be fully customizable. ACCENT Furniture Collection Coveted Studio Furniture

Standard Materials

The ACCENT furniture collection has set the standard for beauty, design and function. Quality comes standard. Standard materials & colors are typically kept in stock and will ship faster than custom orders. The standard materials for the ACCENT series is:

Vertical Posts: 0.125" quarter hard aluminum (5052-H32), brushed and clear anodized

Horizontal Frame members: 0.060" steel, brushed and zinc plated

Vertical surface Wood panels: 0.75" Roseburg Melamine, or equivalent

Table Substrate: 1.125" thick, 45# density particle board core

Table Backer: .038 paper backer sheet

Table Laminates: Wilsonart, high pressure laminate,

Table Edge: 0.45" x 1.25" high, Vinyl Waterfall edge with PVC, 1.5" radius corner

Standard Colors:

Side panels: light gray

Tabletop laminates: Graphite Nebula

Table edge: matte black

Aluminum: brushed and clear anodized

Wilsonart: Graphite Nebula

Melamine: Light Grey

Custom Materials

We realize that every studio is different and has different needs. Therefore we design our furniture to be fully customizable. You may use different materials, different tabletop shapes and different designs.

Custom Tabletop Colors

Our tabletops use Wilsonart laminates. As a result, we can create tabletops with a wide variety of colors and patters. With this there are 2 options:

OPTION 1:

Any of the Wilsonart "standard colors" can be selected for the tabletop without an additional charge, but may increase the manufacturing time for the studio.

OPTION 2:

There are Premium Wilsonart colors that may also be selected but there will be an additional charge. Contact the factory for pricing. Premium colors are called the HD "High Definition" collection and can be selected from here:

Custom Side Panel Colors

Our side panels may also have custom colors or patterns. There are 2 options that you may choose from:

OPTION 1:

The standard Melamine side panel colors are (1) gray, (2) black, (3) white. These other standard colors are available without an upcharge but may increase the manufacturing time for the studio.

OPTION 2:

Side panels can also be custom made with Wilsonart laminates. Any Wilsonart color may be selected but there will be an additional charge. Contact the factory for pricing. Standard colors will be cheaper than the HD colors. Colors and patterns may be found by going here:

Custom Table Edges

The tabletop edges are available in PVC, urethane (soft), and wood. Contact the factory for pricing.

Arrakis Systems has created Google Sketchup models of the different ACCENT furniture configurations. This enables you to create your studio in Sketchup, then import the ACCENT furniture model and see how our furniture fits. This is an excellent tool for visualizing how beautiful your studio will look with the new addition.

Here are the steps to get started:

STEP 1 - go to this link, and download the Google Sketchup software:

STEP 2 - startup the Google Sketchup software and create your studio. You can keep this simple by only drawing the walls, or you can make it as complex as desired.

STEP 3 - download the desired ACCENT Furniture Google Sketchup model. Model colors may differ from the actual appearance. Dimensions are accurate.

STEP 4 - in the Google Sketchup software, click on File and select Import. Now select the ACCENT Furniture Google Sketchup model

STEP 5 - play with the software and see how it looks. This includes changing the colors of the sides and tops.
