The DARC family of products offers a flexible, AoIP (Audio over IP) solution for various broadcasting setups. Here's a breakdown of how it works:
- DARC Virtual Console Software (Required): Handles all the audio mixing, processing, and control in a virtual environment. It can manage everything digitally, making setup more flexible and adaptable to your specific needs. DARC Virtual comes standard with all Surface bundles.
- Simple IP Nodes (Required): Physical devices where you connect audio inputs and outputs. These nodes work with Dante-enabled devices, integrating seamlessly with your network. Or you may also use any Dante enabled hardware to act as your node.
- DARC Surface (Optional): An optional hardware control surface that interacts with the DARC Virtual Console. This acts as a physical interface for controlling your audio processing and routing, similar to a traditional console but more streamlined and optional.
This system is designed to be scalable, fitting both smaller and larger studio setups. It simplifies AoIP by separating the control (software) from the physical connections (Simple IP nodes) while offering the option for tactile control through the DARC Surface.

Audio I/O Nodes
The nodes are the backbone of your AoIP system. This is where you connect your hardware to your AoIP network, including microphones, phone hybrids, headphones, cue speakers, Program/Audition/Utility outputs, etc. Once the audio is ingested, you will have access to all audio I/O anywhere on your network, providing you with the ultimate in flexibility.
