*Requires the purchase and use of Simple IP. The feature is a feature of the Simple IP node.

**Requires the purchase of the ARC-MIC-PRE to convert 2 line input channels to mic preamps.

***Requires the purchase of the ARC-Blue.

Features Key

AoIP / Digital

Simple IP Compatible - This hardware will connect and operate with Simple IP Analog nodes. Learn more.

Physical Control Interface - The console is a physical console with physical faders and buttons. The only exception is the DARC Virtual console, which is software based and can operate with a Windows PC, & monitor.

Analog Audio I/O - The hardware will accept analog audio inputs and outputs.

Digital Audio I/O - The hardware will operate with digital AES3 audio inputs and outputs.

Remote access - Allows you to connect via a 3rd party Windows application to login and control your console. This feature is only available with the DARC Surface and DARC Virtual console. You can turn channels on/off & even control volume levels and assignments. This does require an internet connection at both your studio and remote location.

Windows compatible - Will work with Windows OS. Check with our sales team for latest required specifications.

Touchscreen compatible - Works with touch screen monitors.

Digital interface - The control interface is completely digital and does not have audio routed through a fader or switch. The DARC Surface and Virtual both control audio channels on the Simple-IP Dante network. All audio is routed via the Simple IP nodes.

Dante AoIP compatible - It is compatible with the Audinate Dante network protocol.

AES67 compatible - Is compatible with all AES67 audio devices.

Programmable channels - Allows you to programmatically assign what channel is assigned to each individual channel. This is all handled within the DARC Virtual Console software.

OLED Channel display - The DARC Surface has OLED displays on each channel, to show what input has been assigned to the channel.

Input Channels

Number of Channels - This is the number of input channels that the hardware allows.

A/B inputs - This option gives you the ability to switch between two inputs on a single channel.

USB - The USB feature gives you a USB sound card for playback and record. This sound card will work with most Windows or MAC computers, and can work with most software.

Mic Channels - This is the number of mic channels that the hardware will allow. Mic channels also have the ability to mute the monitor speakers in your studio.

Mic Pre-Amp - A pre-amp is required for microphones. Each mic channel has a mic-preamp. To connect additional mics would require a mic preamp. DARC Surface and DARC Virtual uses Simple IP to connect mics to. Simple IP does require a mic pre amp for each mic.

48 VDC Phantom Power - This power supply is used for condensor microphones. Only one supply is needed per board.

Stereo Line Level - High performance line inputs for connecting external audio equipment such as automation systems, MP3 players, etc...

Phone Channel - A mix-minus channel that allows you to connect your phone hybrid to the board. None of our boards have built-in phone hybrids, and a 3rd party external phone hybrid is required for operation.

Talk to Caller Button - This feature allows you to talk to the caller off-air.

Balanced RF resistant - This feature gives you RF free audio inputs. This is important for studios located near a transmitter or in a high RF area.

Output Channels

Number of Output Buses - This is the number of mixed audio outputs that the hardware provides.

Program - This output is traditionally used for your feed on-air to your listeners.

Audition - This output is traditionally used to record off-air, or feed a second audio output to another studio.

Utility -This is an additional output that can be fed to another studio, or for recording off-air.

Stereo Outputs - The output is stereo Left / Right.

Mono Outputs - Has an output that is mono, and is typically used for AM stations.

Balanced RF resistant - Is protected from RF feeds that may distort your audio signal.

Unbalanced RCA - Has an unbalanced RCA output. This is not protected from RF interference.

Listen off-line via Cue - Cue a channel to listen to on your headphones or cue speaker if available.

Record Off-line - This feature allows you to take a mix of audio channels on your board and feed to a recording source such as a PC. This can be done off-line and doesn't have to be fed on-air.

Durability

Modular - A modular console has independent input channels that have individual PC boards. This gives you extra durability for if one channel is damaged, the rest of the board should continue to operate.

Socketed IC's - Socketed IC's allow you to quickly and easily swap out any damaged IC's. Surface mount IC's require a solder iron to remove, and can damage the board in the process. A socketed IC can be easily removed by hand.

Electronic Switches - This hardware uses electronic switches, not mechanical, and is 5 million operation.

LED Illuminated indicators - Uses long life LED's to indicate channel selections.

Bluetooth

Number of Channels - This is the number of available Bluetooth I/O channels available. This is an optional add-on. Learn more.

Connect your cell phone - You may wirelessly connect a Bluetooth enabled cell phone for taking calls and putting them on air or record. You may also stream music and other audio as well.

Connect your tablet - Connect your Bluetooth enabled tablet for streaming audio.

Connect your landline - Connect to any Bluetooth headset enabled landline system for taking callers and placing them on-air or record for later playback.

Control Room Monitor

External Inputs - Allows you to connect your on-air feed from an audio device, such as a radio. You can then listen to your Air Input to make sure that there are no problems in the signal chain.

Output - The monitor output for connecting to speakers in the studio. These monitor outputs are muted when a mic channel is turned on, so that you do not get audio feedback. This output can either be balanced for RF resistance, or unbalanced RCA.

Studio Monitor

Output - This is a monitor feed that can also be fed to a secondary studio. This output can either be balanced for RF resistance, or unbalanced RCA.

Studio Monitor Selector - The MARC console has an optional studio monitor module that has selectable outputs to feed PGM, AUD or UTL to another studio. The other hardware uses the Monitor Output, which is selectable via the monitor select switches.

Cue

Cue Speaker - A built-in 8ohm speaker which plays the cue feed. This speaker is automatically muted when a mic channel is selected, to protect against feedback.

Headphone out - Allows you to connect to a set of headphones. The headphone feed is excellent for when the mic channel is turned on and monitor speakers are muted.

Monitor output - This output allows you to listen to the Air Input monitor, Program bus, Audition bus (if applicable) and Utility bus (if applicable).

Monitor input - This input allows you to connect your on-air feed from an audio device, such as a radio. You can then listen to your Air Input to make sure that there are no problems in the signal chain.

Mic Monitor Mute - When a mic channel is activated, it will automatically mute the Monitor output along with a cue speaker if applicable. This protects from feedback.

Logic

Phone Hybrid Logic - Connect to a phone hybrid to accept or end calls via the phone channel on/off button on the console.

# of Logic - Connect an external relay to turn devices on/off via closure. This is useful for On-Air lights, switching external cameras or equipment, etc... This is the number of logic outputs that are available for connect to an external relay.

Mic Turret Logic - On/off cough talkback tally. Buttons require dry closure to ground. Tally is to ground.

General

110 / 220 VAC power supply - The hardware is powered via an external power supply. The power supply is an auto-sensing supply that can connect to 110 or 220 power sources. This is excellent for domestic or international applications.

APEX Live Assist - The APEX Live software comes free with the purchase of any of our consoles. Learn more.

HSeries Controller Compatible - This software lets you control your H Series console remotely from anywhere in the world. A 3rd party remote control software is required. Click to learn more.
